Goodbye Swarthmore, hello world. I'm out of the institution and need work to earn money to pay off loans. :-( I am at a loss on what to really do with my life, although I think I am getting a direction. I also hate the "new" Blogger. It sucks. I hate the new comments, Blogger bar, and dashboard. Google made Blogger suck. I hate you now Google. You truly are evil.
So staying up late watching Buffy, being paranoid, and having a dog has paid off. Upon letting out the dog after midnight and noticing a mini-van where it shouldn't be, I might have averted a future crime. Wow, that sounds less thrilling than I thought. Hmm. Anyway, there was a van parked in front of my house and I know the neighbours don't have midnight vistors. So I went to a darker room to investigate by peering through the blinds. I noticed a heavy-set guy walking around in between houses across the street. At first I thought it was a neighbor or a guest, but the guy came back around and checked out another house. So I called the police. The guy came across the street and went between my house, but my dog barked at him and he eventually walked away. I noticed him walking around the houses down the block. I think he was casing houses. Anyway, the cops showed up fairly quickly (about a 7 minute response time, good thing I wasn't dying, but I'm sure they would hurry if it was a real emergency) and they caught him as he was walking back to his mini-van. Seriously what kind of criminal drives a soccer mom vehicle? The cops grilled him for 30 minutes and let him go. I guess he didn't steal anything or whatever. Damn due process and probable cause! Just give Bush time and we'll have no civil rights. So he was looking into cars and around houses, but he parked in front of the wrong house. I guess it was pretty lucky. Well, I'll keep a vigilant look out for creeps. Hmm, I'm not sure but I think you can shoot strangers at night in Texas. You gotta love this state.
Long story short, I need a shower and some sleep. Fighting crime really takes it out of you.
