Goodbye Swarthmore, hello world. I'm out of the institution and need work to earn money to pay off loans. :-( I am at a loss on what to really do with my life, although I think I am getting a direction. I also hate the "new" Blogger. It sucks. I hate the new comments, Blogger bar, and dashboard. Google made Blogger suck. I hate you now Google. You truly are evil.
I saw Brokeback Mountain with Ricky and Druck and I must admit I was disapointed. It was hyped up and had horrible background music. Don't get me wrong, i love western and gay cowboys, but this movie coudl have been edited tons better and needless to say I am not buying the soundtrack to the film. The acting was excellent (Jake was amazing) despite Heath Ledger's horrible accent. Also I didn't need to see Anee Hathoway's boobs. The make up job to age the actors was also horrible. I wish they had included cues as to what time the action was taking place. It was confusing sometimes because the scenes would change without a time frame and I was left confused. The story was one of forbidden love, and while it was good, the editing, music, and make up could have all been better. The cinematography was excellent though. The locations were awesome, but honestly this movie isn't all that eveyone says it is. Take out the two hot guys making out and you got a short-lived film that goes to DVD quickly.
On a side note, the first love scene plays out like a rape, it also seems like a dream sequence. A question for gay men: Are your relationships and sex always that violent? To Ricky and I it was like watching two Klingons screw.
