Goodbye Swarthmore, hello world. I'm out of the institution and need work to earn money to pay off loans. :-( I am at a loss on what to really do with my life, although I think I am getting a direction. I also hate the "new" Blogger. It sucks. I hate the new comments, Blogger bar, and dashboard. Google made Blogger suck. I hate you now Google. You truly are evil.
I finally finished Stephen King's Dark Tower series, and I wasn't disappointed. It's been a few days and I have had time to contemplate the end result and I discovered that I liked the 7th book. It was good and redeemed the shaky and at times crappy plot that King had written in the latter parts of Book 5 and all of Book 6. So, it's done. I'm sad. It was a long journey. I began the Dark Tower Quest 4 years ago, it's been 30 for King. Anyway, it's a good series. read it. Everything comes together. I cried. Lan, I think you'll really like this series. It's Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, but with a Stephen King twist of reality. It's hard to explain, but it's good, and I love how everything ties together.
Currently my dog is dead at my feet asleep. It's cute. I think he thinks he's a real person, but he's so needy.
Apart from the DT series, I've read The Five People you Meet in Heaven, good book, sappy and short like Tuesday with Morrie, and I've soon to get a lot of books from the library. Hooray for free.
Read the Dark Tower Series. It's not horror, but fantasy meets western meets philosophy. It's worth the time. A word of caution. If you decide to read the DT series, read all the books related to them so you get the whole picture. But if you don't really feel like reading 20+ books, these are the more important:
Dark Tower (1-7)
It
Insomnia
Hearts in Atlantis
The Stand
The Talisman
Black House
The Eyes of the Dragon
'Salems Lot
Everything's Eventual
In my opinion these are the bare bones. You really should read all of the books. It's fun.
