Goodbye Swarthmore, hello world. I'm out of the institution and need work to earn money to pay off loans. :-( I am at a loss on what to really do with my life, although I think I am getting a direction. I also hate the "new" Blogger. It sucks. I hate the new comments, Blogger bar, and dashboard. Google made Blogger suck. I hate you now Google. You truly are evil.
So it's been a while since I've updated. I tried to update the pther day, but I got kicked offline and I didn't feel like writing another blog post. Lots of things have been happening in the last week, but you'd either have to know what was going on or steal my hard copy, but I haven't updated that since April :-/ So, that's my next project, updating the hard copy.
I have purchased a lot of DVDs lately. I bought Conspiracy, M*A*S*H Season 4, Family Guy Season 1 & 2, Secretary, South Park the Movie, Monty Python Live!, The Life of Python, His Girl Friday/My Man Godfrey, Ravenous, and Donnie Darko. I still need to get a new cell phone, develop and organise my pictures, and fix my computer. Grrr. Anyway, I have a month before I leave for Swarthmore. I plan to work for 3 weeks in August. Rolling Roadshow is next wewek :-) Woo hoo!
I haven't been reading much, which is a shame, but I've been pretty busy. My job doesn't suck as much as it use to because the people are tolerable ;-) They're funny if sometimes not too bright. Theythink I'm meanbecause I threw a roll of tape at a bird that was flying around int he store. I didn't hit the bird, but they thought I did. I bet it's the same damn bird from Grand Opening weekend. Oh I've kind of been moved from Gee Baby to being a cashier. I ahte checking people out because you don't get to momve around a lot. I hate processing checks. One lady wrote a check for $2.72, which at point I wanted to just buy the stuff for her. I also hate Mexican Nationals not because I'ma racist like Kelsie, but rather because they are often rude and they always bring a jillion children with them. These kids wreck the store and the parents don't care. they also have this weird thing about buying things separately. Each kid will buy one or two things each and i have toi make a separate transaction for all of them erven though all the money comes from the parents. Is it suppose to be teaching them something about momney? I don't think it's effective because the parents give them all $50 bills. It's soo fucking annoying. I hate them. It also takes forever to check them out. Grrr!!!! Ricky and Drucka can both commiserate with me.
On another note, I still have yet to go climbing. I'm getting lazy :-( Also want to play tennis or soemthing. Maybe I will go climbing tomorrow. Oh yeah, i got my grades back from London. I did fairly well for not doing much work and turning in 7/10 papers in late. Hooray for me and Harry Gibney! LOL
Dude, my post got erased this morning :-( Anyway, yesterday I watched Chasing Amy and tonight I watched Mallrats with Kelsie and Melissa. I like Kevin Smith. He's really cool.
Work got smart today. They called me on Wednesday to come in because people quit, but I didn't call them back. Unfortunately Ricky's brother answered the phone and he got called in. Today, Barbara asked Ricky to call "Miss Jennifer" to come in. Smart move. I worked from 4pm- close.
I wonder if I work on Sunday, it could dictate my weekend.
I watched the movie May tonight. The movie was okay. It was very disturbing and funny at times, but definately something to see, although not my favourite movie. I liked Donnie Darko better. Less Bloody. Sothing than hanging out with Ricky, didn't do much. It seems like I haven't seen Ricky in a long time. Summer does weird things to time...
I really like the Simple Plan Cd. I have been listening to it a lot. I really like Don't Mean Anything and Grow Up, in addition to Addicted.
My sunburn is peeling :-P It's nasty. Ricky says i look dirty becasue of my weird ass tan. Not weird "ass tan" like Druck, but "weird ass" tan. Just some clarification.
So I was playing around with my mom today. i told her to find me a boyfriend. She told me to go find one myself because she was too busy. i told her I was too lazy, so I wanted her to find one for me. Yeah, so what's up with all the relationship talk. Don't know. Just had some time to think about it. Too much time.
Blah. I should sleep, but i can't sleep past 10 am anyway. Damn I'm getting older.
I watched T3 tonight and I must say it sucked. It would be a great movie for Mr. Sinus though... Other than that, I haven't been working much since they keep cutting hours. My mom has also been on my case a lot for things out of my control. Grrrr. She shouldn't take her stress out on me. Besides, it's not like she's really involved in my life. I don't tell my parents anything about my life. It's sad, but true, that Ricky knows more about me than they do.
I called my Dad today and wished him a happy 58th birthday. He's still in Germany, although between contracts. If not posted in Luxembourg again, he wants to go to the Middle East because they love Americans. At least he somewhat understands that it's not about what you majored in in college, unless you're going into med school or something, but the fact that you have a degree. With a BA, you can pretty much do what you want because you're job will train you or send you back for more school. Anyway, it's a alost cause for my mom, who doesn't listen...ever. She's still convincing me to change my major, although it's sooo late and immpossible to do. Why would I change from something that makes me moderately happy to something else to suit her whims. I never really listened to her in the past, why start now?
So really nothing new to bitch about. Oh yeah, Beth stood me up on Sunday :-( She went tubing on the river and didn't call me when she got home. Oh well. It's ok, I still like Betho.
I figure on the love front that just getting Kelsie hooked up with someone other than "Steve" is enough satisfaction. Cowboy Nick will cry if Kelsie resumes relations with the above mentioned person. But don't read into this like we're pushing for a match ;-)
But for those of you out there, feel free to try to hook me up. I like 'em tall dark and handsome, other cliches are optional. LOL. I also have a thing for older men, but don't take that inclination too far. I'm not going to date anyone's grandparents. I can see it now. I'll be on the next Fox reality show, Who Wants to Marry my Grandfather? LOL Yeah, give it some time. Meanwhile I should find something else to occupy my time. I have lots of books that I should read, although at this point I would rather have a guy...
My stinky dog is no longer stinky. He's clean and sleeping under my chair. He's so cute when he's asleep. He's too cute to eat ;-) Anyway, I saw Beth briefly and we're going out tomorrow night because I work tomorrow at 930am. It also seems like I'm working the cash registers. Sucks. I hate Jody.
What have I been up to? Well, not much, but yet much. It's just been one of those weeks. I went to Warped Tour on Friday and got sunburned :-( On the broght side, I saw Simple PLan and I like them. I also jukjmped line and bought a poster and a Cd. The lead singer signed my poster for me. How cool is that? Even better is that I found $10 in the parking lot on the way out so all in all I only spent $5, pluys ticket price. I drank like 5 big glasses of water after the concert at Kelsie's house. All American Rejects weren't playing :-( But I did like the sound of Mest. I did know 2 Andrew W.K. songs, one of which was on the Jackass Movie. So it was all good. I slept in today, but lately my mom has been really crabby. >:O I din't know what her problem is, but it's gettign really annoying. Glad I'm going back to school in a month.
Best News! We're all going to the Freddy/Jason thing on August 9th. Megan even got a ticket. Woo Hoo. (Wow it's been so long since I've added a Hyperlink) So I'm stoked about August and it was only $40 for a overnight camp thing where we can make bongs and have hot dog eating contests. We all know that Kelsie can eat the more weiners ;-) I need to remember to request off. Speaking of work. Thursday wasn't that bad. I spent 2 hours trying to fill that damn diaper wall. What hell is that? I almost died getting down a box of diapers from the very top of the storeroom. Then I figured I wasn't going to kill myself getting down some HUggies. it's real hell becasuse you have to match up the number of diapers and size4s, but they often give free diapers thrus they screw up the count. That and there are soooo many boxes. I guess Ricky would understand. It's hell. Then I had to get down like 15 boxes from the top of the store room. Some were really heavy and I had to slowly walk them down off the 15 or 20Ft ladder. My arms are goign to get buff. LOL Anyway, I droped some of the boxes that were like sheets and stuff like 20 ft from the floor. It was ver satisfying. I didn't really mind doing the lifting. It felt kind of good. I also don't mind shelf tagging that much. I did get to set up the Firemen room stuff. It looks nice. Take a look at it. So the job still sucks, but it wasn't that bad, but now I have to cashier which could suck more. I don't like cashiering. It's evil. I got a nice fat check on Friday and I was so happy that I spent $120 on DVDS at Deep Discount DVD. Damn you Kelsie! But hooray for DVDs!
Nothing new on the love front. I would like boyfriend and he doesn't even have to be rich at this point. I think it's a bad idea to get a BF just to kill time though. But then again, my hypocrasy doesn't bother me. It's when everyone else is hypocritical that I get angry. Yeah yeah, I know bad ideas, but can you really help it when you're sitting around alone on Saturday night. granted I don't like to go out and party, but it would be nice to have the option to stay home right? Well, look who I'm talking to. The only people who read this aren't any better off than I am. But then again I have this thing where I don't like to be alone. Blame my parents for that. Damn parents screw you up.
Speaking of parenthood. I've been thinking about the baby thing and at work I came to the realisation that if having kids means I have to take them to horrible stores like Toys R Us, then I'd rather not. But then again, thank God for online shopping. :-)
Well, I'll rant (I hate that word) later. Melissa just called me so perhaps I can rejoin the living and have a life. Just maybe...
I love my stinky dog although he tries to eat my feet anad it hurts. He's so cute. I hate my stupid job because it's tedious and the management sucks. For kicks I corrected one of the signs in the break room that had typos. Stupid people annoy me. Anyway, we're running on a skleleton crew and people want to quit. Martha already quit and I see Lisa quitting soon too. Apparently wwe're not making enough money to have more people working, (one person works Imaginarium and Girls!) but then again without people we can't really sell a lot of stuff. On a nother note, damn Mexicans are messy and have the worst behaved children. They really mess up the store and they never leave when we tell them the store is closed. It really sucks, I was at the store till like 10:45pm!
I don't like Jody and lots of poeple don't like her. Duane is cool, but I swear the man is on speed. He's like Mr. O'Neil from Daria on crack. It wasn't too bad closing, but on Thursday, I have to open with Lindsay. :-[ I learned more about "Scruffy" Nick. He's 22 and graduated from SAC with a degree in Graphic Design. The job market is tough so hence he is working at Toys R Us. He is going to Paul Okenfeld tonight and maybe the Warped Tour on Friday. He seems single to me because he was hitting on some girls who were buying glow sticks for a Paul after party. So Hooray for Kelsie! He wants to make his own comic book and I hear he wears sandals even though his hair is curly.
Druck washed off the apology I wrote him on his truck in shoe polish. :-(
I have to close again tomorrow, and then come in at 7am on Thursday. On the brighter side. I'm off till probably Sunday and I'm going to Warp Tour on Friday and Beth Coira is coming into town and we'll probably go out this weekend. Hooray.

Don't listen to Kelsie because she is a liar. Also work sucks. God I hope I never have to do work like that for real. Lindsay is a bitch, and I don't like her very much. I do like my job and the people I work with. 99% of the people are nice. Jody doesn't like me though. She's the one ho probably got stood up at prom. So to avoid conflict since Lindsay doesn't let Ricky and I work together. We aren't even allowed to talk to each other even about work. So it sucks. I generally spend most of my time avoiding Lindsay and our section. Everytime she sees me she makes me do some bitch work. It's freaking annoying. I spend a lot of my time in the girls section and books. I like the people in that section.
Anyway, I worked 58 hours and will be getting a nice check on Friday. I also might go to the Warped Tour with Kels and Mel on Friday. Don't know yet. Also Ricky's hours and mine do not coincide at all. We're not working together at all. Also we're working 20 hours this week. :-/ Well, at least I get my life back. Ricky and I aren't scheduled to work together at all. Coincidence or planned treachery?

I am dead tired, but I'm updating because no one really reads it anyway. ;-) But anyway, I am scheduled to work 55 hours next week, and I'm only off on Tuesday while Druck and Ricky have Monday off :-( Working a lot I have less time to be bored. Poor Jin-Jin. He misses me. Anyway, I will have a nice check to show for my 4 days of backbreaking, wewll long labour. Money is nice, I bought a racing car track thing today for $16. I love clearance items. I also got a lunchbox. I think I will bring in a DVD on Friday when I have an hour break. I could watch a couple of M*A*S*H episodes or bring in a movie. I think I might. Anyway, I like pretty much everyone that works with me with the exception of Lizette. There are 3 Mikes, 3 Nicks, 3 Omars, 2 Eri(kc)as, but only one Jennifer. I rule! Anyway, I need to get some sleep because I close tomorrow :-( Need sleep.

I didn't sleep very much or well last night and my feet hurt because I've been standing all day. It wasn't bad, but not the most interesting either. I don't know if I mentioned it, but I've started to wear my socks inside out becasue I find them to be more comfortable. The seam isn't al ldigging into my foot and stuff. Well, I'm am now gainfully employed at Geoffrey, a.k.a. Toys "R" Us. Fun fun, well it should be because I'm working at the Blanco store with Druck and Ricky. It's going to be pretty crazy. Although I may not agree with Geoffrey at all in terms of big business, exploitation of the worker, and other socialist ideas that I kind of hold, it's still $7.50 an hour and it's not telemarketing.
I am surprised that I did get this job because I made an ass out of myself during the interview by pointing out that the interviewer, who was to be at a 9am interview on Friday never showed up and left us waiting for an hour and half. Not really the brightest thing to do, but I panicked and I was still a bit angry. Anyway, it's all good. I hope it works out. It's about time I got a job. I have like 2 months left. Speaking of I better book my ticket for Swarthmore. Grrr.
Still thinking about the Balkans for my research paper and there's some good news there or rather an odd coincidence. I found a series of lectures on modern Balkan history a nd oddly enough they were from a class that was taught at Swarthmore in 1995. Cool huh? Yeah, I better start reading now. I think i want to combine history and politics and I've decided to do 1990s sort of result of break up of USSR sort of thing. Yeah, I know that's still pretty vague, but I will soon pick a country. Will let you know how employment works out.
On a different note, I finished From a Buick 8 and I liked it. It wasn't so much horror as it was fantasy like. It reminded me of the Dark Tower series because of the descrpition of the place in the car... I would go into more details, but I don't really want to give anything away, although I doubt that any of you read Stephen King, hell even read at all. :-(
I was to see Legally Blonde 2 this week and Druck wants to see Charlie's Angel's 2. I gave Jin-Jin a bath today and he's getting better at standing still. I didn't get half as soaked as last time. He's currently passed out under my desk sleeping/ My mom had turned him loose outside for the day and that normally tired him out. He's such a cute doggy sitting under my chair while I'm on the computer, except that he ate my sock. Oh did that piss me off. i also took a picture of him with short hair, well I tooka lot of pictures because he woudln't stay still and that made me angry too, because the first time I tried to take his picture it was perfect except the camera's button woudln't work. It was going pretty wonky while I wasa in Europe, I should get it looked it.
Hey Betho is coming into town for the weekend on July 17th and Melissa will be home sooner than that. cool. Betho wants to take me out and get my proper trashed. She says she'a wino, and it's funny because we used to joke about that. Scary. I miss Beth.
Ah, I watched all those Cary Grant films and I liked Operation Petticoat a lot. It was super funny and Tony Curtis was really good. I didn't realise that I liked his acting. He did a great Cary Grant impersonation in Some Like it Hot. He has very striking eyes. it's kind of scary how they catch you. They're like blue or green. I think blue, ice blue. Normally that freaks me out. But anyway, you couldn't tell how amazing they were in Some Like it Hot because that film was in black and white.
For my Dad's birthday, I got him 11 John Wayne western movies. He likes westerns and John Wayne. Granted they're not the well-known (good) John Wayne movies, but the early movies, which I still think is cool, because you really don't get to see those. And putting 11 on 2 Dvds is really convenient. Probably the best part is thata it only cost me $6 plus tax. :-) Kind of like how much I spent on my brother's clothes from the Gap. I love sales, and those trousers look really good, well will look goiod on him. I haven't seen him lately. Hey I shold probably tell him that I have a job. LOL
Well, it's an early bed time for me. I hope I can sleep tonight. Shit. I forgot I drank a Pepsi today. Damn it. I won't be able to sleep. Hmm maybe if I put some vodka in a Pepsi... Nah, I think warm milk with butterscotchj scnapps will be fine. MMMM I love sleeping.

I received the new Harry Potter book from the UK the last week. It's a monster and what bothers me is that I have to buy the special edition from the UK so that it mathced my other Harry Potter books. Grrr. It's going to be like $40 or more. Also the hardcover of From a Buick 8 was glued together and not sewn together. That's really frustrating. Why the shitty quality all of the sudden. It's also the American version, which unlike most of their British counterparts sew their books together instead of gluing them like a paper back. Talk about suckiness. I didn't pay $2 for a poor quality book. Yes, I only paid $2 for the book, but that's not a reason for poor binding. I'm glad that I didn't buy it full price, else I would have been really angry. What really gets me is that that book won't last for my life time. it will fall ap[art, like a paperback :-(
