So, nothing much to update, except that there is a new computer lab across from the dorm. i think there;s a london conspiracy to make me lazy. I got my Orange sim today and have activated it. fun fun. Emm I hate those jeans that only cover half your ass because invariably some girl wears them with a short shirt and you can see her crack, which I find soo unattractive. Oh yeah, another guy scratched his crotch in front of me while I was walking to Sainsbury. What's with this country? Blah. Searched all over for the disk, no luck, but I found that pretty much everything that was on that disk was backed up on something else. I thjink the only programme I lost was ADaware, but I can download that again or soemthing. I'm stoked! :-) So tired. I womder if I will ever do my work. I suppose I will be fore Thursday. Damn coimputer people didn't call me today, I will have to call them tomorrow. Bastards. >:o

HA HA HA! On a Brighter Note Avril LAvigne got shafted. No Grammy for you little wannabe sk8ter punk girl. LMAO. Well, I have to give some credit to the grammy commitee for making an excellent descision. Now, I suppose your life is "complicated" since you're a loser. it took 4 people to write that song. Sad isn't it?

You guys sucks, you totally do. No comments in like a week, oh the horror. Anyway, Norah Jones won like 8 grammys last night, but according to Homer Simpson, no one cares abour the Grammys. Good for her though. But it still doesn't justify her $50 dollar a head tickets before winning all those Grammys. Anyway, her website is getting so much traffic I can't even log on. :-( Jerks. I was number 303 to sign up for the message board so the rest of the poeple who joined after me i.e. Post grammy wins, are posers. LOL Crap. Still haven't found disk, also need to read for paper. Blah. Want to watch Daria 24/7. Am now memporizing stuff from the episodes. I need family guy. emm...got my new sim card, but it's not letting me register the bastards. well, I hate the new flatmate already. They were sooo loud moving in today. Granted it was noon, but hey, some people are trying to sleep especially those who went to bed around 5am. Sheesh, have a little courtesy. Anyway, lots of work not to do. Perhaps I'll go into central and get some work done, or go see the Titian exhibit at the National Gallery.

Blah. The computer screwed up, but I didn't have much typed out anyway. Everyone isn't updating or commenting because Austin called. :-P Ooh I passed this girl in the library that smelled like Dr. Pepper. Was I thirsty or do they really sell stuff that smells like Dr. Pepper. It was a bit weird.

Emm.. Miguel moved out yesterday, but he'll still be in London staying with German for 10 days. Hmm, it's all a little suspect, especially since I saw something black that suspciously looked like a dildo in his closet, but then again Im a paranoid and snoopy person. Just ask Mr. Led. Didn't fo much except for watch oh 10 hours of Daria and M*A*S*H on Maureen's computer. I'm computer sitting because min eis in the shop and I need to write a paper before I leave to Bath on Thursday. Blah work. I doin't want to do any. I did call Yen Ting yesterday and had a nice chat with her. I miss her. She says Stanford is lots of work, but tolerable or somethign like that. I told her she should apply for intrernships in Austin that way I could see her. :-)

Emm... Oh yeah. I lost my zip disk that had the backup stuff on my computer, which I wiped out the harddrive because i installed a new operating system. >:O Yeah, and to make it worse, it had all the cookie pics and videos! :-O So don't be surprised if you see Rickt and I on a scat site. Damn disk fell out of my bag asses... Well, there go my dream of political office. Ultimately nothing was really lost because all those pics and videos were backed up with Ricky and the programmes I lost can be redownloaded and stuff or my brother has them. I just don't have a copy :-( My essays aren't lost either because |I have them saved on the network, e-mailed, and on disks that I haven't lost :-/ Oh byeah, I was bored and not wanting to do work so on Friday I read Michael J. Fox's memoir, Lucky Man. It was decent, a bit sappy, but interesting. His real middle name is Andrew, and Michael A. Fox, (Michael "eh" fox) for a canadian would be way too many jokes.

Fecking hell, I can't wait for tomorrow so I can check the lost and found in the Arts computer lab where I most liuekly lost the bloody disk. I better check under my bed too. Grr...this makes me angry because I normally don't lose stuff. AH! it's like my socks last year at Swat all over again!!!

Oh yeah. Been reading lots of books lately, not connected wsith class, because I was procrastinating. Read: Jonath Frazen's The Corrections, Michael Moore's Sutpid White Men, Fast food nation, and Silvertown. I liked them all. The fastfood nation book is scary and I don't think i can eat another mcdonalds burger agagin. I think everyone should read that and Moore's Stupid white men. Very good research and writing style for both. The corrections is an odd book, kind of the futility of life goes on style somewhat portrayed in About Schmidt. I remember some thign now. The Some of the cuts in About Schmidt remind me of Kubrick's The Shining. Weird. It's because they kind of just cut to a bleak scene with little drama about it. Cool. they both starred Jack Nicholson too. weird...

Also so bought Michael J. Fox's biography, Lucky man. Don't ask me why, but it was a 3 for 2 book deal. Sappy.

SHIT BLOGGER DID IT AGAIN! Assses. Fucking hell. Damn Google bastards. An abbreviated version of what I had before. If I ever find the bastard that....::grumble::

Anyway, I dropped off my computer to get it fixed today in West Ealing. Hopefully it will be ready by Wed and I won't be screwed out of a lot of money. Lecture was boring today, although Michael Questier lectured. Sad. I really want to kill that fat purple pouch guy. Answering rhetorical questions. Ass!

Picked out baby names. Coudln't find one to go with Emily, other than Anne, but that's going with Elizabeth so any ideas? going to have a lot of kids to use all my names. :-/

P.S. I saw Harry Gibney today on the street walking towards Mile End. I wonder if he knows he has a fan club?

You knbow if I ever see shapes moving around the graveyard when I'm walking alone at night rest assured I'll start running, but I don't think I could out run a vampire. Dude, that graveyard is spooky even in the middle of the day. Anyway, I ordered an Orange Sim card today and hopefully it will work in my phone. I tested Chrissy Orange sim and it worked fine. So if it works I'll be switching phone numbers and gettting some of the money T-mobile has been ripping off me. Asses!

I also called to get my computer fixed and will be dropping it off tomorrow. Fun. Well, I save about £10 by dropping it off myself. Blah. Feeling lazy maisey!

I wish I had a remote control for the world. I'd put so many people on mute. Last night the drunks coming back got into a shouting match with some girl in her room. Shouting from the window at 3am in the morning. Super fun for everyone.

I also like how Steve Piker abuses the Reserved students e-mails by sending out an e-mail looking for a house sitter. Hmm sleep sounds better than papers.

Here's a long overdue tribute to your favourite and mine, Harry Gibney! (Even if you don't find then all that amusing, consider them to be informational travel guides)

Subject: STUDENT UNION ELECTIONS

Hello folks

You may have noticed that the student union will be running their
staff elections shortly. We have had associates involved in the
process in the past (no Reece Witherspoon characters from
'Election', but more a case of people helping out). If you do want to
do something, please speak to the staff in the union and the
candidates.

Hopefully we wont have any issues concerning chads.

Subj: Greenwich and Surrounding Area

Here is another oner to get our new arrivals used to the area...

Greenwich is another place well worth making a point to visit -
Royal Naval College, The Cutty Sark, Royal Obsevatory, The
Gypsy Moth, Greenwich Park.

Make you way to Mile End Station but carry on past it. Five
minutes down the road you will come to Bow Road tube station -
again ignore this. 200 yards past this is the entrance to Bow
Church station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR). The DLR is
a 'monorail' style method of transport which links Stratford and
Greenwich with the City.

Buy a ticket and take the platform on the left - you want any train
that goes to Greenwich (some only go as far as Cross Harbour but
you can get these to Canary Wharf and change there). Get off at
Cutty Sark and away you go.

Other useful stops to note:

West India Quay - this is where you can find the 10 screen
cinema, very trendy bars and restaurants (including Bar 38 who
have a unisex toilet as their claim to fame????).

Canary Wharf - shops (including a mobile phone shop for Orange
which I believe have a very good rate for calls to the US). You can
also check out the prices at places like GAP just to see how much
the British have to spend - this should let you have a good laugh at
us.

Crossharbour - The London Arena - 12,000 capacity concert arena
just a stone's throw from where you are. Home to the London
Knights Ice Hockey team (we went last semester and it was a
pretty good night, if anyone is interetsted, let me know and I'll see
if we can sort something out - tickets will be about £7-10. If I hear
from 20 of you, I'll make some enquiries). They also do concerts
down there - that chap from your side of the pond, Justin
Timberlake, will be there soon. All sorts play there - in the last year
we have gone from Alicia Keyes to SlipKnot to that SlimShady
character - details on www.londonarena.co.uk

More soon

Subj: Embankment

Hello folks

Hopefully, you are all starting to find your feet, remember for any
queries you have, please come and see me.

Another day out - this is a good one for when your parents or
friends visit as you can dazzle them with your knowledge of London.

>From Stepney Green station, make your way to Embankment
station. From the one set of exit gates, turn right and cross the
road at the crossing directly in front of you (if you turn left from the
gates a five minute walk takes you to Trafalgar Square). Once over
the road, turn right and you have a very pleasant stroll along the
Thames. 500 yards down the road, you will see a boat (the
Tatershall Castle) which is permanently moored. This is in fact a
pub which is well worth a look when the weather improves (great
views on deck).

Walk past this for five minutes and you come to Westminster
Bridge (Big Ben/Parliament). Cross over this to the South Bank.
Turn left and walk back along the front for in order:

Aquarium - sharks (crikey)!!!

Royal Festival Hall - concert hall and arts complex.

Tate Gallery of Modern Art - wonderful building full of great work -
free!

The Globe Theatre - Shakespeare plays. I want to organise a night
at a play but since it is an open air venue, will wait for it to get a bit
warmer (no cheeky comments from any West Coasters' please).

Go back across the Millenium Bridge to take you to Saint Pauls
(bridge outside the Tate) and the station there takes you directly to
Mile End (although you do not collect £200 for passing go).

Regards

Harry

Subj: 'The Beautiful Game'

For those of you who want to know about Soccer, which you shall
now forever call Football......

Footie is an obsession with the nation. Pick up a paper and look at
the sport pages at the back - at least half of them will be dedicated
to football. A ten minute talk in a pub will eventually lead to football.
Please pick a team to follow while here - it helps.

The professional game has a top league - the Premiership - which
is the most exciting league in the world. There are three leagues
below this (1,2 and 3) who have automatic promotion/relegation
places and an extra promotion place which is decided by a play-off.

London has six top flight teams. Arsenal (hooray) and Tottenham
(boo) in the North. Chelsea and Fulham in the West. West Ham in
the East (your local side who play at Upron Park on the District
Line), and Charlton in the South.

Manchester United (boo) have dominated the game for the last 10
years and are regarded as the best supported team in the world.
Arsenal (hooray) have always been second best with the
occasional upset by snatching a league from them. However, they
are the current champions, leading this year's league, and it looks
like finally, the balance of power has swung towards North London
(similarities can be found in the Star Wars Films - we are now at
the end of The Return Of The Jedi).

Games sell out! Arsenal sell them for matches two months in
advance. As long as you get in early, you should be able to go.
Tickets are £30 approx.

All teams have a web site where you can get contact details but
Arsenal's are:

Box Office Enquiries - 020 7704 4040

I will see if we can go to a game at some point and will be happy to
answer any questions you have, EXCEPT with regards to
Tottenham. If you want more information with regards to that team,
you must find out yourself.

subj: Jack the Ripper

Hello folks

For those of you who want to know more about Jack the Ripper
and his history in Whitechapel, type 'Jack The Ripper Walking
Tours' on the web, to get a comprehensive list of those on offer. A
good one starts at Tower Hill - 7.30pm every night outside the tube
station and is £4 for students - these tend to be good ones'.

Not been on one myself, but some of the staff and students have
gone, and they have given postive feedback. Perahps those of you
who have no fear and do go can see if the tour guide takes the
award from Johnny Depp for dodgiest cockney accent (for his
attempt in the 'From Hell' movie). Johnny was closely followed by
Dan Cheadle for his stinker of an effort in Ocean's Eleven but
Johnny still has the crown.

Blah. I'm so nervous I feel like throwing up. Suffering from general anxiety disorder or did my breakfast not sit well with me, who knows. I skipped discussion today because I didn't have the attention span to listen to caroline williams drown on. I couldn't even pay attention in lecture. Anyway, here's the absurdedly long post I promised. On another note GOOGLE bought PYRA which runs BLOGGER and I fear that Google's intentions aren't as honest as everyone thinks it is.

Google is watching...

*Skip to the end if you want to read about my new name scheme and avoid the somewhat mundane details of my Winchester trip, although the idiots are pretty interesting.*

I'm writing this @ 227asm GMT on Feb 19, 2003. Anywa, I got confirmation from my mom that Jin-Jin is indeed a Bichon Frise . I'm glad she confirmed that about 2 month after the fact. Jin-Jin is doing well and it almost totally housebroken. Now he only has a few accidents and then he has those spiteful "accidents." It's funny to hear my mom describe how crazy the dog is. She says he barks inoto her ears and stuff when she's napping on the coach. He's also not allowed into her room because he messes up her papers, so if she locks him out, he'll go poop in the living room to spite her. He's getting bigger and stuff. I suppose he will soon have the circle face.

Well, I got my first bad grade today. The funny thing is it was on something that I thought I had done quite well on. My film exam from last term :-( I got a C, which surprised both me and the prof. Well, I now know hot to improve for this semester's exam, which I guess is the important thing after all. Seems I was too vague on last semester's exam. I;'m disapointed, but now I'm worried about the paper I tuened in lazst semester because I thought I did well on that too. :-/

Norah Jones is coming to Texas in July and I was going to go to her concert except in costs $45!!! The only tickets I;ve seen are for rexerved seating and costs $45 or more. I even checked the prices for Houston, Dallas, and Alburqueque! Anyway, needless to say, I'm not going. I saw her in Barcelona for €20, so screw her! Even John Mayer costs less and he's such a bigger sell out thatn NOrah. UInless she plays trhe piano naked, I'm not going. Hell, I don't even want to see her nake! $45! I paid that much foir Sting and at least I woulf sleep with him. Norah's playing at the Backyard in Austin. Perhaps they're are cheaper stnading tickets. They go on sale Feb 22 @ 10am.

Anyway, I really like A-4 paper. it's lonfer and thinner than american paper and it has 4 holes! I saw some american paper today and I forgot waht it looked like. :-( I'm really going to miss A-4 paper.

So on to the weekend. It was ok. The winchester trip and jane auten's house trip kind of sucked. First of all, the idiot leading the trip brought his moronic girlfriend. Well, the Arcadia idiot is the dorkiest british guy on the isle. Imagine a young and much more stupid Jphn Major. Bloody hell, he was an annoying git, out done only by his imbecilic american girlfirend. Stupid or dorky or geeky doesn't ecen begin to explain these too. I didn't know if I wanted to strangle them or throw up. Because it was the day after the sham holiday (Valentine's day), they were all lovey dovey and I was queesy sick, even before getting on the bus! The couple made me was to walk in front of a bus, or even better, push them in front of a bus. Well anyway, Danielle Chou didn't get to come on the trip because she missed her train because she got lost to the Cambridge Train station (again). [It's k Yelle, I stil love ya] well, she probably missed us by 5 minutes or less. Perhaps if she would have paid more attention to the tube closures or listen to me complain about the central line being down she might had made it (JK yelles) On the bright side, Orhan went and we had fun talking about not missing Swat and the work we have or didn't have in my case. ahh misery poker, how I don't miss thee.

To add to my woes we got stuck in horrible traffic for 3 hours! While stuck in traffice I slept well, until I awoke and to my horro saw the two idiots snogging away. NASTY!!!!! Aksi the toliet door on the bus wouldn't shut properly so the door kept opening and slamming shut everytime we made a left turn or accelerated. I tried to make a game of throwing my used kleenex into the toliet, but that got old becasue I kept missing.

Hey wasn't there some school trip where we threw ice cubes into the toliet or sink iof a bathroom on a bus? PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME OUT AND CONFIRM THIS. Hopefully I didn't dream it up.

Anyway, we arrived late in Winchester and barely had enough time to eat @ mcdonald's ( no starbucks that we saw, but I had went to starbucks that morning because I arrived 45 minutes ealy because of Tube closures and paranoia among other things. I woke up at 655am after oh 2 hours of sleep and hung out @ starbucks for about 40 minutes.) I like Winchester and would have liked to spend a little more tiume there. wE SAW THE HUGE CATHEDRAL (damn caps lock), where Jane austen is buried. The cathedral is alot like the one in Salibury. We also went to some old castle, on Orhan's suggestion , and on the way discovered an ugly old house that Jane austen lived in for a while before she died or soemthing. Well, the castle sucked. It was the ruins of a castle, which were closed for renovation till april 2003. Now how you renovated a ruin is a mystery to me. It was weird to see this "castle" next to football fields where school children were having a mathc. Well, we didn't have time to go see the great hall. which is also in ruins, that houses the supposed round tabkle of King arthur's court. Too bad :-(

We then went to Jane's HOuse in Chawton. Well, that sucked too. the curator guy was on crack, kind of like the guy from Blenheim palace, but mcuh worse. He could have been the annoying idiot;s girlfriend's father, who incidently worked at Chawton house. After a boring and unfunny introduction, in which the lovebirds laughed at all the stupid jokes, we were let loose in the house, which was rather small. The house was filled with photocopies of letters from Jane;s family although not about her, old furniture, and scary manequins wearing period clothing. At least there weren't any reenactors :-)

Orhan and I avoided the couple and made it a pint not to be where they were, even remotely. we cringed as the girlfriend was showing the arcadia idiot (philip) around. IT seemed like they were looking for a place to make out. SUPER SCARY!For the Swatties who read this, they were like a SWIL couple. I swear when I forst met them I thought of some of the nasty SWIL couiples. Anyway, we had to leave early and we didn't get a chance to look around the garden or see Austen['s donkey cart. No biggie. I slept the whole way back and didn't wake up until we were in London. Traffic wasn't that bad. The Tube was crowded because of the don't attack iraq rally in hyde park that had around 500,000 people. YWuck. Aactivists scare me and churn my stomach :-P

I ditched the V-day party and slept in till 4pm the next day. Didn't do much Sunday.

There are some shows that I want to see here in London. Auntie & me with Alan Davies, Aresenic and old lace with Michael Richards, Dance of Death with Ian McKellen, My Brillant Divorce with Dawn French, Macbeth with Sean Bean and Samantha Bond, the Tempest with Derek Jacobi, and Madam Butterfly. I think I will stay here in april and wathc movies in the library, see shows, tour london, the UK, and Ireland. Or Europe if I have the £££. Ho[efully, I will have my compter fixed by then. It's still acting up and it worries me. :-(

Hang and he friends from Swat are coming to London for their spring break. YEa!

OKAY now for the NAME GAME:

I;ve been thinking of suilly stuff lately . One of which is just randomly changing my name, nnot legally of course, but I would start introducing myself to strangers as Elizabteh Lee. it sounds Asian and besides, what would they care as lonf as I answer them when they call my name. LOL. It;s not like I haven't been Elizabeth before, but i think it woulfd be really fun and pretty harmless. Id they don't know the truth, what's it to them id my name is elizabeth or jennifer. laso why would I lie about my name, giving me credibility. :-) So I think I will start telling people my name is elizabeth lee. I wouldn't give up Jennifer and will answer to both names. I really want to go back to Swarthmore and tell all the freshmen and sophmores, who don't know any better, that Im Elizabeth Lee. I don't know how I'll explain my real name to them if they find out. but who cares. Is this an evil plan? If so, Jennifer, not Elizabeth came up with it.

I hate black ink! The black ink cartridge exploded in my pen. Seriously I don't know what's up with those catridges.

Also been thinking that you can substitue Bailey's irish Cream for milk in Rice Krispies. The irish do it ;-) The Rice krispies here are more fluffy...weird. I've been 3 weeks Kebab free, but I'm feeling a craving coming on.

Miguel's moving out this saturday !!!! :-( No more Miguel or German, No more speculating. no more cooking utencils or Spanish football matches on the radio. So sad. So sad.

I really like the name Alistair.

Not going to Prague, but will be going to Bath and Cambridge perhaps Ireland.

Much better, just nose is running. Pretty much well. Finished reading The Corrections. Now must do papers. Also realised wrong to chastise people for not commenting and also that no comments is better than pity/shitty comments.

I'm feeling better, but don't want to do work. Also instead of going to Poland and Prague, which would cost major £££, I'm thinking of chilling during reading week and perhaps going to Ireland. I'm thinking of seeeing Yelle at Cambridge or T-sa at Bath. Hell, maybe I'll go up to Scotland. {aris is also affordable, but the £100 return to Prague, plus tranfare and lodging is a bit rich for me now. I'm not too disapointed though, I like England and London, although it's fucking cold right now. Like snowing, but I shouldn't complain because I could be at Swat freezing my arse off.

So why doesn't anyone love me and comment on my blog? Is it becase it's too long? Is it because I smell like a Frenchie?

Still a decent memior, but further proof that you don't have to be anybody to havea book written about you. It's kind of like Angela's Ashes, but it didn't really resolve. I felt that like something was suppose to happen. The aniticipation was a bit annoying. Nothing ever happens to this woman, but perhaps that's part of the tale. No drive, no ambition. I suppose that's the East End for you. But I'm still disapointed. I wanted more, but I guess there was nothing more to say. It did give a very good picture of the area. I think it pinned down the East End well, perhaps with a better character....Anyway, one book in which the where is more interesting than the who. Still worth reading, but cum grano salis.

LOL. Should I be worried if the guy next to me is wearing a black trench coat and looking at guns on the internet?

Awyway. I'm still sick as a dog and I feel like total crap. I didn't get up till 2.30pm when Miguel knocked on my door to see if I was alive. Well, I guess i was. Sort of. He looked kind of guilty because he woke me up. Anyway, I'm still suffering from insomnia at night and I can't seem to get to sleep before 4am. it's horrible, like the weather today. Damn horrible mist crap darkness. i'm feeling a little light headed. I think it's the Dayquil, but then again I haven't taken any today. I don't have a fever, but I'm hearing everythign in MONO sound. Man I miss stereo. I don't think I'll be doing much today other than sleeping. I was going to go to the London Transport museum today to carry on my whilrwind tour of museums, but not in this condition. My tongue is in pretty poor shape too. BLah. To bed with me.

Breaking News! Well, not really, but it sure does sound exciting. i figured out why I got traffic today. Lifted from Greg's Comment Board " Blogger is jammed today so the same ten 'most recent' posts have been there for hours. Yours is one of them." Damn! it's not jammed now and I never got to see it. i always wanted to see my blog on the main page, preferably on the lbogs of note, but any bit counts. :-/

With the increasing number of blogs to read I'll never leave this damn machine. Woe be the world.

HOORAY! I have people other than my friends reading my blogs! I'm sooo stoked! Wow. I'm bouncing in my seat, I'm so excited. Having perfect strangers read about my personal life....Well, at least I have Fans! weird thing is I think they're all from the UK. Hmm don't know why. Maybe it's a time zone thing. But here's to Greg (Notice the singular G at the end.) and Jiaqi Cai !

Anyway, they noticed that I write super long blogs. Yeah, I can't seem to get around that. They would be longer, but I don't have internet access after midnight so be thankful. Imagine if I had internet acces 24/7. Man these posts would be super long! Epic is a good word for them.

Well, i have to get to the Library and stuff. Blah. I'm actually starting to do work now. i.e. checking out books for a paper I have to write in 3 weeks. :-P

On a brighter note, I'm off to Jane Austen's house in Winchester on Saturday with Yelle and Orhan. English countryside. Yea! (I hope there's a Starbucks)

P.S. Notice my nifty href work. It's the second html code I've learned. Oh baby. I'm moving up in the world. I'll fix the other links too. No more lazy pour moi. (HA! that's so a lie, but I will fix those linkos)

P.P.S I hope you jerks are happy.. I fixed all the http:// links to be href so you can click on them instead of copying and pasting them into the browser. Lazy bastards... anway I also fixed some of the more annoying mispellings and typos I had. I will someday fix them all (Not bloody likely).

P.P.P.S I learned that in Montreal, Cananda, to insult or curse people you don't cuss at them, you yell sacraments at them. Like Baptisma or something for Baptism. Apparently 'dem relgious words be fighting words... Dumb Canucks...

Blah. I'm getting sicker all the time.

It's an early morning post for me because Miguel's Ph.D. party is tonight. Doesn't sound liek I'm getting sleep tonight. I went on a Book Sprulge last night at Borders and bought 8 books for £44, which is like $75. I think I spent $100 in books yesterday because I bought some online at Half.com. I love that site. It eats my money. :-(

It cracks me up that the books I bought only cost like a total ofr $4, but the shipping is like $12. I love my books. How can you sell them, even if they are shit (Grisham).

Oh, so the book Silvertown: An East End Family Memoir is really good, but a book that takes patience. It's entertaining, but then again I'm probably a bit vbiased since I'm here in the East End. I know the places the author is talking about and I can somewhat commiserate with the shit conditions. Although it's much better now than it was in 1914. But the term Mile End Waste still applies. I just find it cool to read about places you are. You guys can borrow it, but I'm not sure you woudl like it as much as i would. In addition to Silvertown, i bought Michael Moore's Stupid White Men or somethign to that effect. The Fastfood nation book which Heather was reading during the summer. Mine's different because I got a british edition. It talks about America's influence on Britain's fast food. That's kind of cool. Michael chabon's Kavlier and Clay, Jonathan Frazier's The Corrections, and some classics, The Last of the Moechians and Tess of the D'urbervilles. I also bought a memoir of Michael J. Fox, don't ask me. It was a buy 3 for 2 sale and I didn't feel like getting Michael More's other book adn the other books didn't interest me. Besides I need something well "uplifting" or whatever.

I looked for Daphne Du Maurier's Rebbecca, but they were sold out as well of Lolita, oddly enough. I was also going to get The Handmaid's tale, but didn't like the copy they had. I will probably just read it out of a library or borrow Kelsie's copy. Also Kels, what's the name of the sequel? I also want to read all my King books I bought and I want to get back to the classics. I love cheap books. Why doth i love the print word so much?

Anyway, i noticed that the covers and Book jackets here are diofferent than their american counterparts. The Chabon book isn't the white edition i saw here and what really gets me is that Stephen King's covers are all sinister looking. i mean, i know he writes horror, but even his Dark tower series covers are frightening and all DT fans know it's not horro it's more fantasy! Sheesh. Also they had a crazy number of different editions of the LOTR books. And they don't even sell the gay movie book covers ones. :-) I think i might buiy a set here before i leave because they looks coooler. They have a an all black paperback set with a coloured raised simple character in elevish or seomthing. they have like 3 or 4 different sets to choose from and none sport Elijah Wood on the cover. Well, I've seen the lack of choose of books in America and these aren't priced too much so i might pick up a set. Anyone else care for one? They look really nifty.

well, the weather has been ok. not really all that cold comapred to Swat.

Rain sucks. Saki Rocks!

It's funny how perspective changes. A nice day to mean means no rain cloud. Hell partly couldy is a godsend.

I really am going to miss London. I love this fecking polace and the East End. Although ghetto and all, it has character that the posh west end or central lacks. I'm really glad I'm here (although sometimes...) and tis been a good experience. No accent of course, but sometiems I laspe into one and some words will come out funny. I also am stuck on british spelling, but that was before i came here. They have just encouraged me to be worse about it. Well I've probably written another essay, but I have ano hour before my next class to eat and do some fo the reading. I also am going to talk to my prof about my upcoming essays. And all when ebing sick. Super fun. Well, I miss being babied when ill, but it couldn't last forever. nothing does.

So I couldn't sleep again last night. I didn't get to bed till like 6am. Is it any wonder that I was late to my 2pm class? I even skipped breakfast and such. I think my cleaner lady was trying to gas me out of my room, the stench of cleaning products over powered me and must have knocked me out. Well, ti sounds liek a good excuse. I still feel like crap. Yellowish boogers, you know you're sick when you see that shit in your tissue. But it's better than orange or green.

Funny thing is, while trying to get to sleep I kept thinking about ghosts and such. I swear that my dorm last year was haunted and the year before that it was definately haunted. ML was used as a hospital during WW2. Roberts wasn't as creepy, but our quint's hallway was super erie and the cavernous rooms came with a ghost. Anyway, I'm pretty paranoid, as you all know, and I don't like the mirror in the hallway here. it's like there's going to be something there when I look into it. I'm also more terrified of ghosts and vampires at night than muggers or rapists. How logical is that? Damn T-sa and her info about vampires hangin around graveyards. Some of those tombs are really old and the stones are cracked and some of them looked liek they've been moved! Also aliens are disturbing and T-sa said (mind you she lies a lot and likes to freak people out) that they always appear behind you or at the foot of your bed (adds Ricky). Like I don't have enough trouble sleeping at night. Ricky put forth the idea that vampires can walk through walls. Well I said that they're undead not ghosts, and yet that just sounded weird.

Ah poop! Coldplay sold out AGAIN! it's ok though, i don't think I really wanted to go that badly or I would have called the first day they started to sell the tickets, but then again, i didn't expect them to sell out in 2 days.

Hmm perhaps after dinner instead of doing reading I'll go to Oxford street and go to Borders. Hooray for books. I love them. Sounds like a plan. I would buy DVDs here, but damn region encoding. Asses...

Well, since some poeple complain about the long windedness of my posts, I will in future try to keep them short. Or not. I have other things to write about. namely a story about a chicken and a dog... ;-) Mum's the word!

So I just ran a word count on the previous post and it was liek 2,200 words long. As long as the essays i have to write for Society and State in Britain. Really sorry folks.

Geez, why do continetal people smell. is there a rule that you can't wear deoderant on the continent? british people don't smell, it's the poeple from the continent who do. PHEW!

It's 2:20 in the A.M. and you're watching Perspectives...

So I'm kind of cheating by not actually posting this at the time it was written, but I don't feel like wasting time on the computer tomorrow typing when I can do it from the comfort and privacy of my own room. Besides, I have lots of stuff to look up and purchase. Hooray for books.

So here's the post that I should have written tonight instead of looking at Wil Wheaton's web site which is very funny, as mentioned in the former post.

On Saturday I slept in because I wasn't feeling well (I'm still not up to par) and saw About Schimdt with Anna. Well, the movie wasn't what I'd it would be, but it wasn't a movie that I acutally disliked. it was just kind of SLOW and at times, pretty boring. It did have it's funny parts, but for the most part I was always waiting for something type of action or some plot development. The sensation was like that of American Beauty, but without the Big Bang ending (no pun intended). I was always waiting for Jack Nicholson to do something, his character was very predictable and I wanted him to break that mold and accomplish something. It is kind of a tear jerker at the end, but all in all I was disapointed with the movie. it's not really a comedy or drama, but more like a somewhat biographical story or documentary. Mind you it wasn't as bad as Traffic, which I really thought was long and boring, but it wasn't an American Beauty either.

On a different note, I learned another valuable bus route. I learned that the 277 and the D7 go from Mile End park to Canary Wharf. I can take the bus to the cinema. it's wonderful. 1.40 lb to get there instead of 4.10 lb ( my computer doens't have the pound symbol). So if I do that and not buy popcorn it's comparable to an American film price. the other valuable bus routes I know are the 8, which leaves from Bethnal green to Oxford circus, 25 which leaves from Mile End and goes to Ocford circus, the N25 which is the saw as the 25, but it runs at night (it's the night bus), and crap I forgot the bus that runs from hackney to Whitechapel. man these are all pretty important, since Central is still down. Also it's cehaper to do the bus thing adn you get to see the city, which is nice. I do miss the tube adverts though...

hey I really kind of gotten use to typing on laptops. it's odd, i think I make more mistakes on a normal keyboard. Or maybe not. I make a lot of mistakes no matter what I type on. Just don't have the patience to correct my mistakes or rather don't want to learn how to type properrly. i have progressed from my the finger peck method, but I ain't not secretary, if you know what I mean.

Emm the other day I found a blonde hair on my purple bra. I don't know how it got there and I don't have blonde hair. Should I be worried?

Also another fact to ponder, T-sa said that breathing through the mouth is very strenous on the heart so much so that if you do it continuously, like when you sleep, your heart could great bigger than normal. Like freakishly huge. We saw this heart at Body Worlds and it was like two times the size of a normal heart. it weighed like 800 grams! Anyway, just some medical adivce from the girl who diagnosised my sleepiness as cancer. Thanks T-sa.

Ah, my salmon dinner went wonderful. I learned that it took twice as long on to really cook as it said on the packaging. Maybe i might lay off the lemon juice next time and all more butter and garlic. I like butter and garlic. I cooked some baby courgettes, string beans, and potatoes in a butter garlic sauce and I'll tell you , it's lovely. I am really starting to take a shine to veggies, espeically green beans. I also have a fondness for asparagus, which T-sa doens't like because it makes the urine smell are bad.

Geez, I hate being sick. I'm kind of half sick, you know. Not really a full blown cold or anything, just annoyingly stuffy and a bit tired and achey. I had a lot of trouble getting to sleep saturday night. I didn't get to bed till 2.00am and then tossed and turned a lot in bed for at least an hour. If you know me, I'm out like a light once my head hits the pillow. If I'm not asleep within 10 minutes of getting into bed then I consider that a hard night to get to sleep. tossing and turning in bed for an hour and a half is torture. How do you normal people manage that? I was even considering sleeping sideways on my bed with my legs propped up in my chair, but deicded it was too much work to get up and walk the foot to set up the chair. I am a lazy person, you know. Very lazy. I think it's a bad thing. I should be more motivated, but yet i lack the desire to be more so. i also like 10 hours a sleep a night and non0lazy peiople look down upon that. Why can't sleep be a hobby? Geez. I love dreaming.

Oh oh. this is turning into a very long post. I don't know how to stop them from being so long, but i tend to ramble. I'm not even half way through I still have to tell you about the National Portrait Gallery.

So not feeling well, probbaly worse today or rather yesterday, i woke up late like 2pm. Acutally Miguel's phone woke me up. He came back from Cambridge today and he was watching Daria, Is it fall yet. Anyway, I puttered around for an hour and then decided that I would go to the National Portrait gallery (NPG) today. So I hoped a district train to Embankment and then a Northern Train to Leicester Square. it only too like 45minutes which was nice. I started at the top floor, which is where the portraits begin chronologically. It started with all the Tudor family. which was really cool, but after a while you don't give a damn about Dukes, Earls, or any other royality. they all look the same to me.

Some highlights: I saw lots of Elizabeth I portraits which have been reproduced in many history books (I'm a history dork I care about stuff like that. Also what did Elizabeth I see in robert Dudley? He's ugly!), the only Shakespeare portrait that was probably painted from a real likeness, A copy of a George Washington Portrait (they had a really wewird American section. All of 10 paintings that briefly mention George III losing the american colonies. It was really glossed over. I hope they're not sore about us breaking free and all), John locke, Thomas Hobbes, Isacc newton ( I was sneering as his portrait. I couldn't help it. I hate freaking Calculus and physics!), Robert Boyle, francis bacon (I laughed when I saw it. He died becasue he caught a chill from sticking snow up a chicken's bum. On the verge of refrigeration, but died because of the cold), victoria and Albert (man Jonathan Firth really did look like him!), The Bronte sisters, lots of artists, authors, musicans, and scientists, there was a weird bust of Joseph Conrad, I sneered at James Joyce, Handel was cool, and then lots of poeple I don't know. Royalty, dead people, generals from the great war. you know. People. anyway, after the tudor and victorian stuff it kind of all goes to hell. I mean there was some weird modern stuff, a 60s/70s exhibit that had a few warhols , and weird paintings, but mainly there were artsy photogrpahs (not porn) but like some pretty cool ones of John Lennon and such. I also got through the whole free part of the gallery, except I missed 7 pictures in the last room. They closed. that made me angry, 5 more minutes and I woudl have been done with the whole museum. It was the women of power section. The modern section is all photographs of alive people, or recently dead ones. I didn't pay to go see the Lord byron exhibit or that other new one because I'm cheap, but 7 pics more and I would have seen the entire NPG, well almost. I would have made it too if I didn't gawk for such a long time at Sir Laurence Olivier's bust in the modern 20th room. What can I say, he's handsome... dead, but handsome. It was a bust taken from around 1940 something when he did Rebecca. he was dreamy in that. Like a Mr. darcy, but more troubled because he had a bitch wife and crazy housekeeper. it suited him well. He's dreamy So, if i didn't stand there looking at him mfor so long, i coculd have finished the entire gallery. But you know, I still have to go back and finish the gallery, i could gander a looksy at him again on the first floor... anyway, I have to go back that way because I missed Boticelli's painting at the National Gallery, which has a new exhibit, but do I want ot pay 5 lbs to see titian's work? Well, i could swing by NPG and finish those 7 pictures, see Sir Laurence again, and then head over to the National Gallery to explore the renaissance art again. I don't think T-sa and I spent enough time in that section. I might scan ther museum again. that sounds like a project for Wednesday. Or perhaps I should do work and work on papers. Hmm hard to say. I guess I could do the art thing on thursday. OOh. there was a royal Jubliee thing and a weird warhol coloured portraits of the royal family. Prince William is still a looker, although nothing compared to the angelic days of his eton years. Man at 16-17 YUM!

So that pretty much covers my day at the NPG. I did go up to Oxford street to see if Borders was open, but since it was sunday everything closed at 6pm. I'll just go tomorrow after going to notting hill to look for some black socks on the high street and also get me a new book. I won't read my textbooks, but i sure as hell will read novels.

I'm frightened by the lackluster quailty and the churning of books (one a year) by john grisham. has he no shame? He has talent or did have some. he did write A time ot Kill, the firm, and the pelican brief. Shame on John grisham for churning out sham novels. I would say his last atemopt to write faithfully to the craft was A Painted HOuse, which was not a great book, but a hell of a lot better than the summons. I fear that Grisham is turning into one of those Harlequin novelists. It's really a shame. He had potential. speaking of potentional, whatever happened to Jon Krakuer. Seems like fell off the face of the earth, or perhaps a mountain. (God i hope not, he is a mountaineer.)

Eek It's 330am and i wanted to get a move on before 11am tomorrow. Hmm might not be possible. Blah. milk makes me gassy. :-(

Hey, I saw another cartoon at the NPG today and this time I didn't think animated funnies. I recently learned that a cartoon to art people means the drawing before a painting. T-sa explained it, but only after we saw the Leonardo cartoon at the National gallery and I asked her is that all? I expected an animated funny film or seomthing made my Leonardo Divinci, which upon reflection makes no sense, but at the time seemed possible. I didn't expect Daria or Bugs bunny, but some primative comic strip by the master himself. He could draw perspective, what about a peanuts cartoon?

Aww poop! I forgot to tell you that I'm growing a potatoe. Isn't my life exciting? I hope it doesn't die, i've been wanting to grow somethign for a while. I would like to grow lima beens in paper towels like in elementary school, but alas no beans. Since this potatoe started to already sprout in my cupboard, I thoght I'd give it a shot and put it in some water. I poked some Q-tip stems into it (4) to hold it up in my jar. Well, this jar is more like half an Ozarka water bottle from home. Don't worry I have a spare. i put it in some water, i think that's how it works. I never grew a potatoe before. I'll let you know how my little spud is doing.

Kelsie might read the blog of a pregnant woman, but I grow potatoes in my room...

Before i forget here's a note of things for me and or you. If you don't get it it's not for you. Ricky pointed this out to me. it's super cool.

Cellophane Man, Super Invisibility!

I also didn't get a chance to finish Yelle's trip journal.

Europe rocks!

Also didn't have time for Wolf's Blog

Who me?

I'm also debating on whether to get John Grisham's new book KING OF TORTS for $16 or wait to get it for cehaper in America. I know the book will suck, but since I'm bored what the hey.

Should I get Stephen King's FROM A BUICK 8 for like £8 with a different cover here or wait till I get home and get it for $2? The benefits of getting it here is I could read it... but to pay like $13 for it when I can get it for $2 really eats at me. I do want to get this memoir book
Silvertown: An East End Family Memoir . it sounds good.

TOO MANY CHOICES!!!!!!!!!!!

and it's cheaper to buy them in America. Blah

No, big post tonight. Wait for tomorrow. Meanwhile I did update the side links to add Druck and Wil Wheaton to my linkos. Wil Wheaton is funny and a major geek, but his web site made me giggle the whole night. (Like Druck in the plex) Each page was a separate laugh. Cheers Wil!

Anyway, my comments are down for some damn reason that no one at enetation.co.uk can figure out. Oh well. I'll live. Check back tomorrow for: a list of movies and books I want to see or read, a rant on how long it takes films to get to the U.K., what I did for the weekend, and other things that might or might not interest you.

Happy hunting.

HMm Blogger's been acting up and it didn't publish the last post I wrote. Jerks. Anyway, I didn't go to the NPG, well because I love to sleep. Also I didn't get to bed till like 3am. Anyway, a few observations.

1) The Tour date on my Weezer shirt for San Antonio aka Selma, TX reads, 08-04-07! WTF?!? I checked it like twice, but the shirt clearly says that the concert took place in 2007 and not 2002. It's the only typo on the shirt. All the other dates are correct. Man, someone got fired for that.

2) Crap, I forgot what else I wanted to say. I really should write these down as they come to me.

3) I think I'm getting sick. I'm feeling a little congested, but that might just be because I sleep 12 or more hours a day.

Anyway, I'm still going to the movie tonight, which hopefully will be good. Coldplay is playing a benefit at the Royal Albert Hall on MArch 24th. Tickets went on sale yesterday. I am goning to to to get some. They already sold out for both dates in April at Earl's Court :-(

Well, it's dinner or breakfast time. I'm having Salmon! Hoipefully, that is if I figure out how to cook it successfully. Will let you know.

P.S. I'm wearing my fun pants (Don't ask)

I've learned so much about HTML and the comment board.
will forever be the first code I really used and knew what the hell it did. Learning is fun because Knowledge is Power! i think I finalized my comments board design (For Now). Thanks to Ricky and Yelle for advice. I still don't get why the time is messed up, but that's not within my power. I also made a few adjustments to the template, but mainly it's just more spaces between posts. Well, it's off to bed for me. I didn't go the the party, but hopefully will go Museum hopping if i get up in time. Also still going to the movie. Fun fun.

WOO HOO I HAVE COMMENTS. I know some of you were bitchin about how I don't have any comments, but now I do so shut up. Ricky and I found this comment site without any help from Kelsie, who was going to help us. We rock! We also have cool ass smileys. heh heh heh. Well, I'm starving and I missed my class today because I was just too tired. i spent most of the night trying to find a new key for Windows and I corrected Miguel's application to some company. I couldn't sleep though so i didn't get to bed till after 4:30am. Hence it's no wonder I didn't get to my 10am class. Fortunately i didn't miss anything :-) I did however sleep till 3pm. I blame the person playing the loud bassy music. i had to put in earplugs to sleep, so of course I couldn't hear my alarm going off like 10 times ;-)

Anyway, I finally got my colours sorted out on my comments thing. I choose slategrey3 (blue) and chocolate3 (orange) for my text. Man did that take me forever to match up the oranges. But I'm happy. The templates mainly sucked but Dusty Olive wasn't that made. I made a few changes and voila! you got comments.

I hope you liked my new comments thingie.

Choosing the right colour is a bitch!

Have you noticed the people that are now getting onto blogs of note? I used to have this theory that they only chose blogger pro people but that's not true. The sites are normally good ones and well established, but the poele of late are crap. They are also newbies, which kind of makes me angry. I've been here longer, so why them? Why not Erin, who's one year blog-day is coming up this month? (Mine is March 7) BLAH! Who knows?!?!? Jerks, who steal everything from the sacred planet red Mars?

Anyway, about the John Mayer concert. I feel like I post about it now, I let my angery somewhat subside, but I'm angry that any post I write will never meet the standards of excellence set by the first post. Everyone knows that sequels suck, so i won't even try to make this post as good as the last one that got erased.

So the concert was great, I really love the music. He makes weird faces whilst he plays, which is pretty comical. I was standing on the floor in front of the stage and couldn't really see too well since the tallest guys there were standing front and center. Asses. John played 3x5 first, which was cool, except I wasn't feeling well, more on that later. He also played 83, Neon, St. Patrick's Day (I love that one), Your body is a wonderland (Booo), My stupid mouth, No such thing, and a tribute to Sting (King of Pain). the concert was full of American girls, which was super annoying, young brits, and oddly enough there were these 3 old british guys (Like over 30), talk about weird. The americans i must admit are the most annoying people on earth. Since I am one of them I can say that, but seriously. They are loud and obnoxious on the tube. It took us an hour and a half to get there because Central is still down. Also we had to wait int he freezing cold for 45 minutes because I didn't get the damn tickets mailed to me. I hate will call. Anyway, the floor was crowded and I don't like crowds. Also downing that Smirnoff Ice wassn't a good idea. I felt a bit dizzy as well as sick of people spooned by strangers. Blah. the corwd was nothing comapred to the Weezer concert, but then again who moshes or crowd surfs to john Mayer? Since I was feeling ill during the opener (Wheat, who's lead singer looked liek David Spade) i was really sick by the time john came on. I was stuck in the middle of the crowd, which didn't help matters and I was hot. I didn't check my jacket because £2 for checking your coat is a rip off. So When John came on I left my decent spot and moved to the back where there was more room, air, and it was cooler. I felt much better and spent the rest of the concert in front of the mixinf board, which although the view wasn't that great, the sound was amazing. Where I was previously, the sound and voices came out garbled, but i could hear everything perfectly from the back. teh venue was super small too, so i was only like 20 ft from the stage even though I was in the back. I enjoyed the concert, but didn't like the fact that the drunk chicks on the first level were spilling beer onto the poeple behind me. Talk about lush, there were 3 bars for the ground floor, and I bet a bar for each of the subsequent 3 levels. Lots of booze flowing around. the cost was comparable to a central pub so I guess it wasn't that bad. really enjoyed John and I'm looking forward to his next CD. I got one of the European tour shirts :-) John sold out big, but as long as he can produce decent music, I'm ok with that. Who doesn't sell out now-a-days. there are not standards or ethics in today's modern world. it's life, we deal. Oh yeah, the people I went with a little annoying, although Chrissy is ok. I also learned that there's another girl from Swarthmore here. I didn't know she existed until 2 days ago. Small world. the ride back took 1 hour and 15 minutes on the Hammersmith and City (Shitty) line. Uneventful, but still annoyed by Americans. The other girl I went with Lauren, is a bitch. Man a lazy bitch. Nothing good comes out of Northwestern, I swear. All the poeple are idiotic snobs and I'm glad I'm not freezing my ass off in Chicago. Well, that sums up the concert. I did have more philosophical views and thoughts on the former post, but I forgot about them now.

Oh yeah. Update about me. I love London, although the weather sucks ass. I'm seeing the sun more and more, since it's setting later. I like my classes and professors. Although the people here suck, especially the americans, I'm getting use to the loner thing. I will miss Miguel when he leaves in 2 weeks though. he's really a nice guy and pretty funny if you can understand his English. I might go to the Spanish party tonight at Carlos's flat, but I'm think i might do an early day thing on Saturday and hit some of the museums. I'm happy, alone, but happy. I really do enjoy Europe and although I'm too broke to visit all of it, I'm gonna make an effort to at least see London. I have lots of day excursions planned out and I don't really mind playing tourist. I think i might go to the national portrait gallery tomorrow before seeing that jack nicholson movie with Anna.

Lots of things to do and see, and since it's my last semester I best be doing it. Still might go to Poland and Prague during reading week, but don't know yet. I will be going to bath to see T-sa, who I'm happy to report is alive. I was worried there for a while. Also need to see Nicole at oxford and Yelle for a proper tour of Cambridge.

I love and miss you all, but it's all good on this side of the pond.

I really do miss Jin-Jin though.

Well, I did nothing today. Sleep in till 1pm and then decide at the last minute to go see my prof, but alas his office hours changed and he doesn[t even come in today. Oh well. Tonight is the John Mayer concert at Sherpard's Bush, hop[efully we can find it and that it won't suck. He sold out and I have a feeling that the concert will be full of teenie boppers and Americans. Which is more obnoxious, who can say, but at least they won't be American Teenie Boppers.

I've been talking to my friends lately and have realised that we are all suffering from a Quarter-Life crisis. It's the damnedest thing really. All worried about choosing the right career and job and grad. school when in the end it's not really as life or death as we all make it out to be. For one thing, we can always cahnge our jobs and do more school later. Two, which is a big one, We're still YOUNG! It's not like we're anywhere near the retirement age. It bothers me that I have to figure iout what I want to do for the rest of my life (a good 60 years) now. The pressure started in High school and it only gets worse as college graduation approaches with people asking you what you want to do and the impending student loan officers breathing down your neck. T-sa pointed out somethinf important. If you don't have a job, they can collect loans from you. The unemployed route seems a bit nicer, but then again there's the disapointment of people who deem your joblessness and lack of a career or focus as failure. it's not. It's just indecision. We're all entitled to not being sure. It's frustrating to be forced into something that you don't think is right. I would like to figure out what I want to do in the near future to earn mnoney, but I'm coming up with zilch. Ricky had a good idea to be a stripper, but it's just not my style. Although I'm an exhibitionist, doing it for money just takes the fun out of it.

I have also noticed that everyone uses the word rant in their blog descriptions. Why? I guess you could call this ranting, or is it just how we really feel without the pressures of being PC, nice, or faking it. 'Sides rant has a bad connatation to it. But I suppose all words like that do. I say we call it honest sharing.

Another inevitability of life is separation. In about a year's time, earlier for some, we will all be going our separate ways, again. But this time there won't be summer and winter vacations at home. I'll be honest, it frightens me to think that I'll be away from home and friends for long periods that aren't associated with school. London has been like a preview of the times to come. It's still the semi-structuredness of school, but all the down time is very much like the job thing. People never change, it's just the situations that do. There are still the same idiotic and clickish brats from high school in the real world, but it's under a new guise. Eep! that's scary.

In a year's time I won't see you all. It's pretty sad, but the truth. Unless I decide to stay in San Antonio or soemthing, but even then it can never be the same. Change is a mean bitch sometimes, but you can't really do anything about it. I thought about Grad. school but frankly I'm kind of sick of the school thing, but then again the job thing is frightening. Perhaps I will go to grad. school for a mba or something and delay the real world for 3 years, 2 if I school in Europe. Choices. Blah. Why choose, can't we have it all?

well, that was sort of a downer, but thanks to presciption drugs, it shouldn't be a problem.

Dolphin Boy: [Ow! You burned my finger you ugly stupid stinking monster!]

Monster: [Oh, no! I'm sorry. Sorry you're so freaking fat!]

Dolphin Boy: [You said I was husky!]

Monster: [Guess I was blinded by your fat.]

Dolphin Boy: [I thought we were friends.]

Monster: [Fat makes you think crazy things.]

I wonder if I should get a week's tube pass. Would I use the bugger?

BLAH! Today was cold and it snowed a few flakes. They finally fixed my tiles in my room, well, half fixed. They were half fixed when I left and hopefully will be all fixed when I return. Funniness. There was a Teacher's strike (again) today and Wootton forgot to go on strike. Rather the Union didn't notify him that he was on strike so I had class. :-/ Anyway in film class I learned that "making love" meant a wholly different thing in the 1940's thus the quote from Rebecca isn't as funny. To old poeple making love meant flirting. Kind of ruins the quote.

Freaking strike meant I had to go to the Library to check mail. I hate this place, but it works out because I need to get books for a paper I should be writing this week or whatever if my damn computer doesn't act up. I think there's something wrong with the monitor, it keeps going off. Ass.

Anyway, thinking how prudish that girl in my shakespeare class is. She doesn't like bathroom homour, but you got to love discussing scat jokes in class. too bad www.scat.com is a clean site. You wouldn't think it though.

Well, work sleep, and dinner calls me. Too bad no one else calls me. :-(

:-( Teresa left for Bath today. I'm gonna miss her a lot. It was nice to have a San Antonio friend here to laugh with. I did learn something new today, the two different Paddington stops (Hammersmith and City and the Circle/District) are the same place almost. They are on two different side of the Paddington National rail station.

In film class we watched rebecca, which is a good movie, but I forgot how it ended. It could have ended 30 minutes before it did like A.I., but unklike A.I. it didn't suck ass, the ending. It was a happy hollywoood ending, which was the norm for 1940. well, I think Laurence Olivier was damn hot in his alive years. He's sadly dead now, but aren't they all?

The best line in the movie is said by Maxim as he is proposing: This isn't at all your idea of a proposal, is it? It should be in a conservatory -- you in a white frock with a red rose in your hand, and a violin playing in the distance -- and I should be making violent love to you behind a palm tree. Poor darling -- never mind.

Well, I finally read about the space shuttle disaster on the Train today. Kelsie told me about it on Sunday when I called, but it really didn't set in till I saw the Metro headline. TRhey showed pics of recovered debris. Man, it's a horrible tragedy, but I don't want it used in a bad way. Like to advocate war or anything. To do that would cheapen the loss of lives and also I don't think they could link THIS to terrorism, but then again that fuel did come from a middle eastern country eh?? Well, I think I might go in for a nap. I didn't sleep well last night. I kept waking up because I thought I couldn't get to sleep. it's hard to explain, but I'm very tired. I should do my reading, but there really isn't a good reason to.

P.S. I followed suit after Kelsie and republished all my blog entries so you can see my first post on March 7, 2002. My blog is approaching a year old. how time flies. I also updated the sides and links.
